Hi! My name is Toni and this is my blog on writing prompts. Sometimes inspiration strikes me anywhere, sometimes I badly need a jumpstart. This blog helps with those jumpstarts, when you need a little push. Hopefully the writing prompts open your mind further to new ideas and help encourage you into writing more. A little writing help never hurt!
The recession is bad, very bad. How have you been feeling it?
Below is a cooking video by one of the popular cooks online now. Her name is Clara, and she is a 93-year-old great grandmother. She prepares meals from the Great Depression, and shares stories of those old days while she executes the recipes.
Watching her is like watching my own grandmother share stories of her youth.
Does Clara resonate with you? What recipes do you have that bring to mind those older, tougher days? Do you prepare any "Poor Man's Meals" yourself? Tell us about it.
This is one of my favorite online videos. The brothers are just too cute. I find it amusing when babies are at that stage when they bite anything. So cute!
“Will a man’s heart rate go up if he anticipates he’s going to get hit in the testicles?”
Doesn't the thought of anything painful speed up our heart rates anyway? Er... do we really need to scientifically prove that? I guess some people think so! .
"Balls are loaded?"
Fox Sport Science prepared a test wherein a tennis ball is launched 50 mph onto a guy's balls. Watch it and... weep?
Did YOUR heart rate go up in anticipation of the target getting hit by the ball? How did YOU feel?
The official teaser trailer of Twilight was released today. As a Twilight fan, I'm trying hard not to hyperventilate.
We previously discussed the topic on books-turned-films. Judging from the Twilight trailer, it has the mystery and intrigue of the book. The setting of Bella asking Edward about his age is different, but the tension is the same. I do hope the movie rocks.
Are you a follower of Twilight? If not, have you ever been so consumed by a book or movie that every waking hour you check if there are updates on it?
On Britain's Got Talent, a 13-year-old school boy tells of how he gets bullied a lot because of his singing. He shares his talent on the show and mesmerizes all three judges, including Simon Cowell.
Those bullies don't know a thing. This little boy is angelic and brilliant.
I've been hooked on "quarterlife" recently. It's an internet series that started last year. It's about a bunch of twenty-somethings -- sorta like Reality Bites on internet TV. Each episode is only about 7-9 minutes long, which makes for quite an addictive kind of viewing.
Why do I like it so much? I like the concept of a pseudo "reality tv" in small doses. And the lead's a vlogger, so that's pretty cool too.
It made me think about my own quarterlife. Let's say an average person lives up to 80-100 years old, so quarterlife would be at 20-25 years old. I'm thinking back to my early 20s and they were quite turbulent.
I wish I had a friend as hot as Jed anyway. Yow!
Sorry for digressing. Here's the first episode of quarterlife. This one's 8 minutes long. Let me know what you think. The rest of the episodes are on the quarterlife site.
