Hi! My name is Toni and this is my blog on writing prompts. Sometimes inspiration strikes me anywhere, sometimes I badly need a jumpstart. This blog helps with those jumpstarts, when you need a little push. Hopefully the writing prompts open your mind further to new ideas and help encourage you into writing more. A little writing help never hurt!
I loved Rome. It was an extremely hot summer when I was there and we had just come from Florence. I wanted to see the statue of David so woke early and wandered through the empty streets to find my way. As I was the only one from my tour group that wanted to go I had arranged with my tour leader to leave my suitcase at Reception and she would bring it, me meeting up with them all later. She forgot my case and I had to spend my first two days in Rome in the same clothes... in the middle of summer.... it was gross!
But Rome was incredible. The Forum and the Colloseum and of course St Peters. Climbing up to the top of the tower was scary as the hallway really narrows the further up you go until your body is tilting slightly and your shoulders are almost touching the walls on either side.
It is an amazing place with so much to see and do - you would need a lifetime to explore all the nooks and crannies. I think my favourite thing was having dinner in a tiny square near Piazza Navona whilst a small band played and the moon rose above the city. It was very romantic!
Ash: You are one lucky lucky lucky one! Thank you for sharing that beautiful Rome memories of yours. Perhaps someday I will truly understand this experience of yours by experience it firsthand too!
It's an interesting place. It's a life size museum. The only downside is - it's extremely touristy, and you'll know what I mean when you see my photos (give me a week to organise these Italian ones)
