Hi! My name is Toni and this is my blog on writing prompts. Sometimes inspiration strikes me anywhere, sometimes I badly need a jumpstart. This blog helps with those jumpstarts, when you need a little push. Hopefully the writing prompts open your mind further to new ideas and help encourage you into writing more. A little writing help never hurt!

"What is simple in the moonlight..."

May 1st 2008 08:05
"And I'm not sure what the trouble was
That started all of this

Because what is simple in the moonlight
By the morning never is."

-- "Lua" by Bright Eyes

What do these lyrics remind you of?

Wow, Toni, it reminds me of Lua by Bright Eyes and the photo reminds me of Smoke Gets in Your Eyes by the Platters.

Those lyrics are so true! They really resonate with me. I was instantly reminded of a magical evening a few years ago when, after a party, I found myself twirling romantically in my swimming pool with a most enchanting male acquaintance. We held each other close and did not let go, we gazed into one another eyes and kissed and the moon was full and bright. I was giddy with romance for the rest of that weekend... we barely left one another's side... and then I hopped on a plane and left the country for a few months. I tormented myself dreaming of a blissful reunion but it was not to be. He very gently told me it would not work out and I was devastated. How could the moonlight have tricked me so? Ah, the bewitching moon!

raven: You have eagle eyes. *L*

Mia: The moon casts romantic and unnecessary spells! But what a beautiful memory that is!

The moon casts other 'spells' that should be remembered through the day too, I think.

Looking up at a full-moon on a clear night can help re-define what is beautiful and what is important in your life. It gives me such a thrill to look at it - and then past it, into the blackness of the heavens and infinity.

Of course, a little #@&$% helps also

Great post Toni

hazius: Thanks for pushing this entry back up. It's been awhile since I've looked at the moon and reflected. Maybe I should do that tonight.

Hi Toni

Maybe I should do that tonight.

Wow, an auspicious comment on an auspicious night!!!

Check out Zed Power's eclipse article on Orble in the Sience section:

"Dark Moon. Hidden Sun. Prepare the Virgins!"

The link won't post but it's on the first page in SCIENCE

Here's some info on one of his links:

July and August in 2009, will witness the night sky to light up in a rare series of astrological phenomenon. It seems that within a span of a month this year (2009), from July 7 (on Tuesday) to August 6, three eclipses are scheduled to take place; one solar and the other two, lunar eclipse. This opportunity is going to present a grand spectacle to all sky gazers across the world.

That's tonight!!

Hope you can make it ...

Hi Toni,

Just to let you know I didn't see it either - and I looked - from 10 pm to 5am (WA time) but saw nothing. It must've been earlier but then the moon was hidden by trees.

Anyway, there's next month ....

cheers
