Tell me about your wedding day
January 27th 2008 07:17
Did it rain? Was it sweet? Was your bride's gown white? Did you wear a tux? Were you married at a beach? Did you go barefoot? Did your groomsman lose the rings? Did you have cold feet? Did you see each other before the ceremony? Was it in a church? A garden? Was it grand or intimate? What was the highlight of the day? Did you go straight to your honeymoon after? Share, share! Do share your wedding story with us!

God, it all still brings tears to my eyes just reminiscing about it or it could've been that my shoe and hand cuffs were to tight. The stench of home made hooch and rotted teeth riding on the collective breath of the brides party and the absence of members from my family may have been part of the problem. Well, whatever, I cried my eyes out.
Ah, the good times that were had by all, especially when the brawl broke out amongst the eligible bachelorette's for the possession of the bridal bouquet, the pulled hair, the ripped clothing and exposed body parts was truly memorable. In celebration we meet annually to replay the bachelorette brawl and drink until we barf our brains out.
Now, my second wedding was even more of an adventure, y'see we....

"Oh, don't do that - that's a bad idea" they said.
I still wish I had listened.

It's funny how things turn out.
My husband wore a black western style tux, with a black cowboy hat and boots. I have a thing for cowboys lol. I wore a ten dollar wedding dress from Sears sent to me by my friend that fit me perfectly. We wrote our own vows, and nobody had dry eyes. Then my husband got down on one knee and placed a cross necklace around my five year old son and made him a promise saying he was marrying him too, promised to be there, love him and always be his friend and best second dad he could be.
Yep I bawled. It truly was the most wonderful day of my life, with my moms homemade chili, buns and meat, cheese and crackers, homemade wine. Cost of the wedding: 860$ Cost of the outfits we wore 30$ Wine donated, food donated, cake donated, pictures taken by everyone with disposable cameras.
Worth not having thousands of dollars and going into debt to please a group of people on the most important day of your life???? PRICELESS.
