Have you ever been consumed by a video game?

Because The Sims 2 Free Time sure eats up MY free time.
I've been an avid player of The Sims since it came out. I once got too hooked into controlling those little characters I missed an important appointment. Maybe several. And those dark circles under my eyes never really disappeared.
When The Sims 2 came out, I was ecstatic. Now your Sims had life stages -- infancy to elder, birth to death. It was friggin' awesome. With new expansion packs coming out, the world of my Sims grew bigger. They could visit different city spots, dress according to season, design their homes with various themes, and now they can pursue their hobbies in their free time.
Yes I am a Simaholic. I've created a lot of stories with my Sims 2 characters.
The one I'm currently playing is a family of five -- Mom's a Ballroom Dance Instructor whose lifetime aspiration is to have 3 kids graduate from college, Dad's a Restaurant Host whose lifetime aspiration is to be a Military General (not happening). Mom's hobby is music and dance, Dad's is cuisine. Their eldest child is looking for a part-time job in the entertainment industry but hasn't gotten a good lead yet; in the meantime, he likes shooting hoops. His little sister also loves sports, and they both like playing one-on-one. The youngest child is still an infant, a little girl.
Yep, I'm hooked on my Sims.
Do you play the Sims 2 too? What's your favorite Sims 2 story?

Michaelie: Oh god, Sonic. Yes. I was so addicted to that hedgehog. I was spinning in my sleep too.

I haven`t played this yet but I have heard that it is really addictive! Maybe that`s why I`ve stayed away from it
I used to be really addicted to a game called Mappy - this crazy little mouse rang through this 5/6 storey house and had to gather the belongings without getting caught by the cats!
I was 8 I think! (that`s my excuse and I`m sticking to it!)

A few years ago I was addicted to Tetris. As Michaelie said, I was also playing in my sleep, even when drunk. I'm scared to go near it now in case I have a relapse.

But in it's day I think Civilisation II was my vice (whole days would go by with sun unseen).
Command and Conquer was also alluring and I think the original Gran Turismo had me hooked for quite a while.

Wonder Boy 3: The Dragon's Trap on SEGA Master System.
Terranigma on the SNES.
Final Fantasy 7 & 8 on PS2.
Any of the Smackdown games on PS2.
Star Wars: Logo Galaxy on X-Box 360.
At the moment I'm hooked on World of Warcraft (who isn't) but I'm not addicted to it to the point where I will put the game over my life.
Now don't get me started on The Sims. I play this game and create the most screwed up neighbourhoods, one that included:
A rich family of 4 with the wife cheating on her husband with the butler.
A gay couple.
A hobo family.
A violent "bikey" gang family.
A weird professor living alone.
A group of young party animals.
An old couple.
A stud muffin who loved all the ladies in town.
A gothic/punk couple.
Yeah, it's fun to play God

Tracy - I got addicted to Tetris on my phone one day while waiting for a doctor's appointment. A dangerous trap indeed!

No I don't really play games anymore, I'm too busy blogging!
But in its day I was a pinball champion, and later popped the top place for weeks on end on the local Wonder Boy machine (at the corner store)... oh don't even get me started on Tetris, Tracy....*chuckle* I remeber when it first came on the PC ... and then this free one you can download called Zuma, with all the little coloured balls.
There was a Star Trek game a few Christmases ago, called Hidden Evil and I couldn't put it down for the enitr school holdays. That's all over now I am home schooling, thank God... although my girls love the Lara Croft game, but I am engaging my time much more agreeably *LOL* if you don't count bloggin that is... although at least I a still writing this way, huh?

I was and still am addicted to The Sims. I didn't indulge on buying The Sims 2 because of how much cooler it looked! i'm afraid I'd go into the same addiction!
I was soooo addicted to that before and while I was pregnant. Then I stopped until I re-discovered it again a few months back, then hubby and I would play alternately. Then now we just stopped again coz of busy busy day at work.
I'm about to purchase a Wii (Weee! finally!) and I know that has Sims AND the Sonic Vs Mario game I can't wait!!!! At least I know with the Wii I won't be making my A*s bigger LOL!
My rationalization for spending on a game console which is EXPENSIVE this part of the world.

Sven: Oh Civ! That got me hooked for awhile too. Gran Turismo - my husband's hooked on that. We should enjoy all this video game playing before we have kids, huh?
Wayne: Those Sims families cracked me up!! I'm into those weird families too. Oh, what's a hobo family?
Michaelie: "People would gather around me and fetch me drinks and things whenever I got near the end, in order to help me cross the finish line." ROFL!!!!!!!!!
Lilla: Eek! Zuma! That darn frog (is it a frog?) hooked me too!
Hazel: Oh man, you have GOT to try The Sims 2!! But be prepared for a lot of late nights though.
