Are you a cat lover?

I don't have a love affair with cats. I'm not an animal person, but I'd get a dog over a cat anyday. Cats seem so distant and proud. And I don't like claws. Ever since a kitten scratched my sister's foot over twenty years ago, and a couple of cats gave my Mom asthma, I've steered clear of cats.
But they can be cute. In college, there was this black cat who loved to be stroked on the head. I stayed away from it as much as I can. But it would curl around my leg, mew lovingly I would think, and then there I was petting it. That was the closest to a cat relationship I've had in my whole life.
Are you a cat lover? What is it that makes cats such good pets? I'd like to understand.

They are not proud, they are misunderstood. They simply show their affection in different ways than dogs. I love them both

Cats have distinctive personalities and I believe they possess healing abilities, which I only found out through personal experience later in life.
Most people I know love cats, a fact of life.
I'm definitely with Amy on this one. There are many cat lovers on Orble.

Cats are a pinnacle of evolution - beautiful and loyal and loving. If anyone would like a beautiful FREE kitten we have a few and they are healthy and ready to go Its what my post was about, we adopted a feral and she had 4 babies in our garden shed.
Please PM me if you want a cat. They are so cute. I'll try and get some pics today, but I dont want to disturb them with the flash!

Seriously though, I have lived with a cat, Emma, she was nice enough, and cats intrigue me. I've written poems about cats, better that my dog poems sometimes.
I think it's becuse I don't understand cats like I understand dogs, that I write about them more. My writing is how I learn about how I feel and think about things. Poetry as therapy perhaps.
