After the Eclipse

Maybe they wouldn't harm me. I did help save her for them.
The leaves move and I turn my head quickly. It is the wind, as expected, and I scold myself for hoping it would be her instead. Damn hope. For as long as I continue to hope, I will be in this hell I have created for myself.
Darkness is falling but I do not leave. Maybe if I stay still she will come, thinking that I'm not here. Then I would get to see her eyes, brown, deep, questioning. And if our gazes lock, I will not let go. I will not let go. I will keep her.
And that is why I come here.
And maybe that is why she doesn't come.

This writing prompt is I guess what one can call "fan fiction." This is inspired by Stephenie Meyer's Twilight series, particularly post-Eclipse. In this fan fic, I write from the perspective of Jacob Black. Bella has joined the Cullens and she has been turned. This is a twist of what could be. I don't own the characters. This is just inspired by Meyer's beautiful world.
